ABOUT ME
and then some!

I was born in Los Angeles, California and have never lived anywhere else. I am not particularly proud of that fact, but I'm not ashamed of it, either. I spent my time growing up body and board surfing, backpacking through the Sierras, and skiing anywhere I could find snow.
Growing up, when I wasn't going to school, I was playing baseball in the dirt road below our house. Later, we made a deal with a neighbor: we could use his pasture as a baseball field (it had a fence--homerun!) if we would move his cow out and back in ... and clean up the cow pies. Which we did, except for the ones we used for bases.
Went to elementary, junior high, and high school in an area not known for its academic prowess, and I took the path of least resistance, a mediocre student. Then, my parents moved to a city with high academic standards for my last two years of high school, and again, I took the path of least resistance, and became what everyone else already was, an excellent student. Junior college (GPA a tenth of a point too low) and then UCLA, class of 1971 (Rah!). Grad school at CSUSFV (CSUN today) for my teaching credential. I spent 38 glorious years teaching public junior and senior high school students history, government, and economics. I had a blast doing it.
Married to my beautiful wife, glorious writer and cook Marta Ramirez, since 1981, four children (1 from a previous marriage), all now started on their own grown up lives and careers.

Now I am retired and having a new blast writing the story of a character I invented 15 or 20 years ago.
